It’s that time of the year when sleeveless and tank tops come out of the wardrobe. With summers in full swing, many women are ready to enjoy the heat. One thing that hinders our style is hairy underarms.

Though most women shave the region, it results in itching and dark spots.

So, how to remove underarm hair without shaving? Take a look below for a few tips.

Lemon Juice and Sugar

The combination of sugar and lemon juice is pretty much homemade wax. Though painful, the results last for a long time, unlike shaving. You can also use natural honey to moisturize the skin while removing the hair.

Take 1 cup of sugar, ¼ cup of honey, and 2 tbsp of lemon juice. Mix them in a bowl and place it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Don’t forget to take it out once every 30 seconds to stir it. You don’t want to burn the mixture.

Let it cool for a while and then apply it on your underarms. Use it as a scrub, let it sit for a few minutes and wash it off with warm water. This will lighten your skin and reduce hair growth over time.

Cornstarch and Egg White

This combination is a great peel-off mask for your underarms. It is simple and effective though you will have to face some pain when you peel it off.

Add ½ tbsp of cornstarch for one egg white. Add 1 tbsp of sugar and mix it into a smooth paste. Apply this paste on your underarms and let it dry. Then peel it from the region and wash with lukewarm water.

Turmeric and Papaya

Both the above ingredients are known to slow down and prevent hair growth. You will need raw papaya for this mixture.

To ½ tbsp of turmeric powder, add 2 tbsp of grated raw papaya. Mix it well and apply it on your underarms. Let it rest for around 12-15 minutes and then wash the region.

This method doesn’t give instant results. You will need to do it thrice a week for a while so that hair growth slows down gradually.

Baking Soda and Turmeric

We have yet another recipe using turmeric. If you are wondering how to remove underarm hair using the baking soda and turmeric, here it goes.

Follow the ratio of 2:1, with two parts of baking soda to one-part turmeric powder. Add little water and make a thin paste.

Apply this paste to the underarms and let it dry. Scrub it for a few minutes and wash it off. Turmeric tends to leave the skin looking yellowish. So, you will have to wash it again. Best try this before taking a shower.

You can simply go for waxing your underarms and get smoother and long-lasting results. Use a moisturizer to keep your skin soft after trying any of the above methods to prevent dryness.
